From Military Junta´s Burma The Drugs Flow Out Of The Country
Before Burma started to export oil and gas and receive income from that, the SPDC was dependant on getting money from the narcotic drugs business, to purchase the large quantities of arms and military technology for their armed forces - the Tatmadaw. But in Burma the large-scale production of drugs continues, there is evidence that the Burma army is very deeply involved in the drugs business.
In Shan State the SPDC occupation forces have about 130 Infantry and Light Infantry battalions - most of the battalions are involved in the drug business. Also, other army units such as transport, supply, artillery and engineers battalions and companies are involved in the drug trade.
The Burmese army provide security for the drug factories, store chemicals and drugs at army
camps, transport drugs to the Thai - Shan border, store heroin and "yaba" (methamphetamine) at battalion bases and at forward outposts along the border, force civilians to build up drug factories and also force them to transport drugs in the peoples’ own vehicles.
Sometimes Burma army officers force farmers to grow opium, sell poppy seed to them and after the harvest army officers collect tax from the farmers. Everybody who earns money from the drugs trade have to pay tax to the Burma army - if not action will be taken against them. Burma army officers also introduce drug producers with drug dealers who come from Thailand, even arrange meetings at army bases for them were the army provide security for the drug mafia.
If the SSA -S (Shan State Army-South) did not combat drugs in Shan State, then the "drugs would stream like the Tsunami over the border to Thailand". The SSA-S need support from the international community to combat the drug trade in Shan State. The large-scale production in Burma is a international problem.
Therefore the international community have to support the armed resistance in the ethnic minority states, were the ethnic armies defending their land, protecting the population and if they have the capacity also take actions against the drug trade.
Recently a Thai cement company proposed to open up the Shan - Thai border and to construct a road; from Nayao in Monghsat township inside Shan State to Hmong Kaolang in Thailands Mae Faluangs district. The reason for the Thai company is to transport lignite coal from the area around Nayao to Thailand for the production of cement.
Both Royal Thai Army and the Shan State Army south say no to the road project. If the road is built, the drug mafia will really like it, they can use the road for drug transports.
For SSA-S ´s easternmost base at Loi Kawwan the proposed road is a problem. North of Loi Kawwan there is already a road from Tachilek to Monghsat, with the new road from Nayao to the Thai border, the SSA-S base at Loi Kawwan should be completely surrounded with roads. The new road should make it easier for the Burma army to develop operations against the Loi Kawwan base.
In Karen State SPDC has the strategy with road constructions, to make it easier for the SPDC´s forces when they are doing the ethnical cleansing operations in the remote areas.
Hopefully this road will never ever be built!
If SPDC occupation army in the Shan State are not dealing with the drugs; they are committing their war crimes!
On 5 February 2007 at the Wan Saang village in the Laikha township, 75 troops from Infantry Battallion 99 based at Larngkhur, led by commander Sein Aung came to patrol the areas around the village, arrested 20 civilians accused the people to provide the SSA soldiers with food.
Burma soldiers forced the 20 civilians to be the army’s porters when they started to patrolling.
On the same day the Burmese unit found a women Naang Zing 37 years old, she was also from the Wan Saang village, the SPDC troops accused her to be married with a Shan soldier and forced her to go with them. For 2 days and 2 nights the civilians were forced to carry the loads as porters for the SPDC army unit.
The pour Naang Zing was raped every night! She was raped every night by several SPDC troops mostly low ranking officers like sergeants and lieutenants. The SPDC unit continued the patrol mission towards Kho Lam village, when the unit came near Paang Nim village the SPDC troops shot Naang Zing and killed her !
Again the genocidal murders in the SPDC forces have committed war crimes punishable under all international law!
Of course the men in the Shan State want to be soldiers in Shan State Army! Its the only way for them to defend their family, village and their mother country the lovely Shan State.
In all the 7 ethnic minority states SPDC occupation forces are committing brutal human rights abuses and war crimes! In the first week of July in Arakan State, in the Maungdaw township a mosque was destroyed by Burma’s Border Security Force, the Nasaka, based at the Ngar Khuya camp.
The war crimes committed by the SPDC forces are very well documented, we in the free democratic countries around the world can not say that we don´t know what is happening in Burma.
On 23 July the US Congress passed a resolution renewing import restrictions on the SPDC ruled Burma for another year. On behalf of the oppressed population in Burma and all the refugees who have fled their country, we say thanks so very much to the US Congress.
The population in Burma has been oppressed by the military dictatorship since 1962. Right now UN and EU are preparing to send international forces to Tchad and Darfur province in Sudan where the people need help. It is a scam for the international community, that so far no actions strong enough has been taken against the genocide-junta in Naypyidaw.
The world has to give the population in Burma safety and democracy!
Maybe applying military pressure against the SPDC regime will be necessary?
