In Kachin State in early July, SPDC´s commander in the state Maj-General Ohn Myint was holding a speech at a special city hall meeting in Myitkyina, the capitol of Kachin State. In his speech to the audience he said "SPDC shall kick KIO (Kachin Independence Organization) up to the mountains, if they persist in their demand for an autonomous Kachin State " !
Maj - General Ohn Myint also told residents of Dum Bang village in Hukawng valley "We must fight the Kachins and destroy them and their community"!
According to local sources, in 2006 Maj-Gen Ohn Myint tried to confiscate KBC´s (Kachin Baptist Church) Kachin Theological College compound and the Jaw Bum compound in Nawng Nang village 10 miles north of Myitkyina. The Maj-General also ordered the village administrators to remove all Christian crosses away from the village entrances.
Kachin State in early February 2007, 4 schoolgirls from Dukang Village aged between 14 and 16 years, were gang-raped by 3 Burmese officers and 4 soldiers! The brutal Human Rights Violation act, happend at the base of Infantry Battalion 138 based at Munglang Shidi Village, IB 138 is led by Lt-Col Soe Win. After the 4 poor young girls were gang-raped, SPDC authorities send those girls to the jail ! In April the 4 army rape victims, were released from the jail in Putato. The 3 rapist SPDC officers are Major Zaw Min Thet,Capt. Win Myint Oo and Capt. Kyaw Ze Ya.
SPDC officers always claim that they are practising Buddhism. But the Buddhism is a very peaceful religion, and the Burma officers never behave peaceful.
In Kachin States Hpa Kant Township at Hawng Pa village, a Russian - Burma joint venture company the Victorious Glory International Ltd. has been drilling for Uranium since the start in february 2007, the place for this exploring of Uranium is in a Jade mine, about 80 miles west of Myitkyina.
According to Dictator Watch, SPDC is mining and refining Uranium and then bartering the final product the "yellowcake", to North Korea and reportedly to Iran ,in return SPDC receives missiles and technical assistance on its own Nuclear weapons program from North Korea.
In May 2007 Russia’s Atomic Energy Agency and the SPDC signed an agreement to build a 10 megawatt Nuclear reactor in Burma. Recently in North Korea the regime has been forced by the US to shut down their nuclear reactors. Will the world community let the SPDC build a nuclear reactor and develop a nuclear program?
On Dictatorwatch website
www.dictatorwatch.org interested people can find updated information on SPDC´s Nuclear ambitions.
In April 2007 the SPDC-backed Union Solidarity and Development Association attacked 6 members of the HRDP (Human Rights Defenders and Promoters). The Human rights activists were injured, after the attack all of them were arrested! The location for this brutal Human Rights Violations was in Irrawaddy division.
On 24 July 2007 the human rights activists were sentenced to between 4 - 8 years in prison by a court in Henzada township. The brave activists were charged under sections 505 § b and § c, for inciting public unrest.
Again the military dictatorship regime sent honest and democratic people in to prison. What a nightmarish system for so called justice there is in Burma.
I can see 3 reasons for the international community to take actions strong enough against the military dictatorship regime in Burma.
* The gross Human Rights Violations.
* The large-scale production and trafficking of Drugs
* SPDC´s Nuclear program and the WMD´s (Weapons for Mass Destruction) ambitions.
It is high time for the world community to support to the population of Burma!
